Posted - Dec 16 2010 : 5:34:36 PM Brenda, I am so delighted that you really like the shawl that I wove for you. I made it generously longer than usual knowing that living in the frigid north the extra yardage would keep you warmer.
It was so much fun sharing my simple pleasures with you. I love that we both really don't know a whole lot about each other, but share the same interest. We have fostered a secret friendship throughout this past year. I know in my heart that we have nutured a wonderful and forever friendship through a secret. I absolutely look forward to furthering our kinship, sharing our life's milestones, and our simple day to day routines.
I am blessed to have met a wonderful and kind person!
My hope for you this Holiday Season is to have a Merry Christmas with your family and friends. Here's to 2011 with the enrichment of a Happy, Healthy and a truley Blessed New Year!

Posted - Dec 16 2010 : 4:41:31 PM I have struggled with writing this for the last couple of days....wrote a message, deleted it, wrote it again, deleted it! I have just not been able to adequately come up with the words to describe my secret santa this year! My Christmas package makes it all the harder.... When I opened my package from my secret santa a couple of days ago, the tears came to my eyes. Tears, because it just amazed me that she could take the time and effort to really do something for me that is so special, so thoughtful, something she must have really thought out. Every package she has sent this year has so obviously had much thought and love put into it. Well. I just don't think I can express how much it has meant to me this past year. She has known about my ups and downs, what's going on here, what I'm doing! But my Christmas package! My secret santa made me the most beautiful shawl....it is handwoven with strips of ribbon yarn(?) woven through it. I think that's the way to describe it, not quite yarn, yet not quite ribbon, but wonderful! And, such a softness to it, I never want to put it down! I've been wearing it on these cold days we have, while I'm on my computer, while I'm sewing, while I'm reading...It's long enough to double up and put over my shoulders, or I can put it over my shoulders and my lap if I'm really cold! I absolutely love it, and I will never be able to express how much! My secret santa was Gerri Hammock, and we knew each other a bit before the swap even started, well now, I am so excited to be able to get to know her even more! Gerri, thank you so much for making this year so special for me! {{{Hugs}}}

Posted - Dec 12 2010 : 10:26:42 AM Brenda, As often, I'm running late but will get my Secret Santa gift off early this coming week. I had hoped to get it going this week end but we've been snowed in since Friday. Probably a bad choice, but I had hoped having deadlines would help me stop my procrastination, but its still an issue. By the way I love the quotation at the end of your post, maybe that should become my mottot! Susan
