Okay, we have 11 ladies signed up so far and many are sewing already! I have my squares finished now, but would make a couple more if we get two more sign ups. Here is who I have so far:

Me (Carrie) (done)
Carol (Received)
Beverly (Received )
Karen
Holly (Received)
Debbie (Received )
Starletta (Received)
Valerie (Received)
Amanda (Received)
Vicki (Received)
Bea (Received )
Theresa (Received )

I have heard from everyone again so I know we are all still current and involved! Let me know how your squares are coming along. I will keep sign ups open a little longer in case we get one or two more. I will not go more than 13 because I feel it is better to not make it too large of a project to the point where we get overwhelmed and give up. Once everyone is close to done I will give you all my address. So keep in touch as let us know how you're doing. Post a photo as soon as you can...we want to see!!!

FYI...I used an 11 inch piece of foundation fabric and then trimmed the finished square back to 10 and 3/4 inches. That leaves it big enough for each of you to trim it up to whatever size you want. Hopefully none of the squares will be less than 10 inches after trimming. But...if they are small we can still add them to the quilt by trimming around the sides with sashing and bringing them up to size that way. The beauty of a crazy quilt is that anything goes and it all looks good!

Blessings-
Carrie M

I received the pieces a week or so ago. I have been having difficulty with an internet connection. We only live twelve miles from the state capital but we must figure otu how to access the internet on our own. We are too far out for cable. We had a little piece of plastic that looked like a thumb drive to be our connection but it broke several times. Now we have my-fi and hopefully will be more reliable.
The quilt pieces are very nice. I need to find time to sit down and figure out a pattern. I thought I would make another piece with Mary Jane's farm friends on it with the swap dates onit.

Just about finished with the quilt. I made one extra block and used it for the middle. I did 3 X 4 put them together with backing and batting. I am quilting the decrative stitches as the quilting. I think it will be pretty when finished. I will post pics as soon as I am done. Thanks for the inspiration.

I received my blocks yesterday. Thanks so much everyone and for Carrier for the swap. I am waiting to see what a quilt guild swap comes up with, to see if perhaps I can put all of the blocks together to make one quilt.

received my blocks today. It's fun to see all the different fabrics and where they blocks are from. I haven't decided how to put this together yet, but I want to practice some decorative embroidery first so it may be a while. Thanks everyone! Thanks Carrie for hosting this swap.

Carrie,
got my blocks today. Thanks so much. They are all incredible. It was fun to see where they all came from. I am on my way up to my friends quilt store to show them off. I have not yet been to the farm in Moscow but look forward to do so one day. I understand that it is pretty cool. Well, can't wait to get home to put these together. Thanks again for the great swap, you did a great job putting it together.

Valerie...I have your squares! They are wonderful...I'm glad you made it through midterms so that you could join in with us!

Has anyone heard from Karen? I haven't had any response from her. This may mean that I will have to send you each one of your squares back with your other blocks. I will contact her again and hope to hear from her. Otherwise, I will put them all together and get them out early next week!

Thanks for your participation...you're going to love the blocks!

Valerie,
I have used the same fine point pigma ink pen on 3 signature qult block
swaps and it hasn't run out of ink yet. Maybe you could take yours back?
I iron on the back side a piece of freezer paper, it holds the fabric taunt
so it doen't stretch out as much while I'm trying to write. Hope this helps.

I used the pigma ink pens but do not thank I will ever use them again. First time I have used them but the first one ran out just by using it on 5 sqaures. Good thing that I had bought more as the store only had three of them. The writing part didn't come out that great either. Anyone else have these problems with the pens? Perhaps it was because there were the fine ones? Those were the only ones the store had. Too bad that my sewing machine doesn't have embroidery software available for it.

I think it is a great idea to display your quilt at the Worlds Fair. I have often thought of putting mine in our local county fair. It does sound like a lot of fun.

I have ideas on how I want to put all the squares together. I want to enter the finished quilt in the Tunbridge Worls's Fair. I have won two ribbons there in the past. the fun is in the entering. I would like to hear opinions on having their piece part of the entry. http://www.tunbridgeworldsfair.com/

Carrie,
Thanks so much for coming up with the ideas of the signature quilt. Can't wait to see everyones blocks. I have some ideas on how I want to put my quilt together. I was thinking of making it as a wall hanging with a wide border. That I will applique my merit badges as I earn them. So far I have two but I hope to earn more.
Let's all take a picture of our finish tops or quilts. What do you think chicks

Carrie,
Thanks so much for the exchange. This has been a lot of fun and really got me thinking out of my comfort zone. I am really excited to get them back and make my quilt. I will be taking it to my quild meeting as soon as they are done and showing them off. Spring has finally hit North Idaho, I hope. Looking forward to rain instead of snow. This way I get a break from outside activities and get to sew more. Again, Thanks so much.

Good morning, everyone!! Hope this Monday finds you all well and ready for spring! I am hearing reports of snow from some of you, as we have had this past week, too.

I went to the post office this morning and it was like Christmas!! I received...

Bea's envelope with postage, thanks!
Amanda's package, love the earthy colors in your squares, and I'll watch for postage :-)
Holly's squares, WOW! handstitched centers!
Starletts's package--love the pumpkins and...CHICKENS!
Vicki's squares--looks like you got the hang of it...they are fantastic!

So, I'm just about ready to mix them up and send them back. I got my 11th square done, yeah!

Thank you, all, for your notes...I can't wait to send your squares to you. You're going to love them all and they are SO compatible!!
