Posted - Sep 24 2010 : 09:52:51 AM Hi--does anyone on here have Chamilia beads? I had too many for one bracelet and bought the necklace but don't wear it. I'm not a necklace person. Way prefer bracelets, the more the better. Anyway, I thought I would offer it in trade for some bars of lavender goat milk soap, if anyone is interested.

Posted - Oct 01 2010 : 10:22:50 AM A barter is between two people to exchange goods. A Swap is usually more of a group activity to do something fun like exchange like goods (usually but not always) like tea cups. Sometimes it will be a themed swap where everyone will send in something say Christmas themed, and then the swap Mom exchanges everything. Then you get a box back with one item from everyone in the swap.

Posted - Oct 01 2010 : 10:06:24 AM The barters are usually a one-to-one exchange, more often than not of different things. One man's treasure and all that. But the swaps are usually done in a more or less group format, even if the final exchange is done one-to-one. Usually you are swapping like items (say, dishcloths for dishcloths) around a theme. Sometimes, for smaller items, you will get one from everyone in the swap and they in turn all get one from you. I always think of swaps as crafty challenges, but some are of store bought items as well. More of a social exchange, I guess. Whereas a barter, is more like "hey, I have this and don't need it/want to get rid of it/it's still good, who wants it and what will you give me for it?" I hope that makes sense LOL!!
