Sorry, everybody, but I ended up in hospital Tues night in the ICU on a vent. My heart failure took a dramatic turn for the worse. I have done well for 3 years but got careless with my sodium. etc. been doing too uch(canning), got home yesterday, on oxygen for now. I'll get off it. Floyd is mailing my last of July's swaps today and my secret sister gift. Sorry, they were already late. Love everybody, I'll get better. I don't know how fast, but I usually recover pretty fast. |

Oleta...
You were really sick to end up on a vent. I just found this and hope you are doing much better. You need to really take care of yourself. I'm sure you are on a water pill and you need to faithfully take your medicine. Prayers to you dear heart.

Well girls, I'm better! Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. I'm basically off oxygen except occasionally. Floyd absolutely refused to help me pick any wild elderberries that I use to make cough syrup. No making cough syrup either! I give it away and everyone swears it cures their cough. It has elderberry juice, honey and cheap whiskey in it. I don't usually cough from a cold, haven't had a cold in a long time. Thanks again. |

Sorry to hear about your hospital stay, sorry you had to go, but thankful they helped you through it. When you are busy and feeling relatively well it can be easy to let little things slide about taking care of yourself. Please take this as a lesson on being more careful in the future! Rest and recover! Maybe you can share canning produce with a friend who would be willing to return half to you already canned or exchange for other food later in the season when you are up to dealing with it.
