Posted - Aug 10 2010 : 06:29:43 AM I'm glad you liked your bookmark, Debbie. I loved the one you made me as well and to include a good book to read with it was genius! I can't wait to start it. It's been sitting on my kitchen counter calling my name since yesterday afternoon, but I have to restrain myself as I just have too much to get done this week LOL!

Posted - Aug 10 2010 : 05:39:01 AM Siobhan, thank you so much for my beautiful bookmark, so much love and care went into and it was appreciated. With 3 young boys I know finding the time proved difficult. I will treasure the bookmark always and will always remember you. I hope we will be able to keep in touch, we can never have too many farmgirl sisters to write to.

Posted - Aug 04 2010 : 6:11:53 PM Hi Pam- Your bookmarks have arrived, and they are so beautiful! A machine embroidered purple lace, looks like a bird in the clouds with a leaf, very pretty. And the other one looks like layers of hand made paper with a design in two toned string and some nice leaves. How did you do the leaves? Thank you so much, Pam, they are little works of art! Posted - Aug 03 2010 : 09:58:42 AM Jessie - I'm so thrilled you got the bookmark and liked it!! That style stitching is called Chicken Scratch, or Depression Lace, or Hoover Lace, or Gingham Cross Stitch... I kinda like Chicken Scratch! Ladies started doing it during the Depression as a way to pretty-up their gingham aprons, kitchen towels, etc - when that was the only fabric around, they were still doing what they could to make their worlds beautiful! What an inspiration.
Anyway thanks a bunch! I'm peering down the street waiting for our mailman, as you told me you sent mine the same day!! woohoo!! ~TJ
