Hello everyone!

I am hosting a Signature/Friendship Quilt Block Exchange. If you are interested please join us. The quilt block example can be seen on this website: www.quilterscache.com/S/SignatureBlock.html

Rules:

1. Block size to be sent in will be 6 1/2".

2. The center piece of the block will be white or white on white only. The rest of the block can be what ever you like.

3. Print your name, city, and state and your username on the white portion of the block. It must be in black permanent marker or embroidered in black.

4. All blocks will be sent to me along with a self-addressed stamped envelope for your receiving blocks.

5. No embellishments.

6. You make 1 block for each person plus 1 block for yourself.

I will be taking sign-ups through May 15th. Send-in date would be by May 31st. I will email everyone with my name and address. I will be sending these blocks back to you on June 7th.

Good Luck Ladies!

P.S. Just a reminder...the directions make a 6 1/2 inch block. It states that it make a 6 inch block but that is when it is set into a quilt.

Hi Y'all,
I got my blocks today and they all look beautiful and I want to thank y'all for the great job y'all did. I can't wait to get the ones from the next quilt swap. I'm going to save them all and when I get enough I'm going to make a big Farmgirl Friendship quilt.

Hi Everyone, I love my blocks and want to thank you all for a great job. Since these are my very first, I think I will set them on point and make a wall hanging. Thanks also for the signature ideas. Hopefully next time my printing will be readable. LOL
Warm Hugs,

Thank you Everyone!! Julie, your doing such a wonderful job on this swap, so appreciate all that you do! The blocks are sooooo beautiful . . . my quilt is taking shape and I am loving the overall look! Annette, your use of the printer was perfect, loved the way you did it.

A quick FYI for those of us using the fabric pen, to get your fabric to stay put while signing your blocks, set it on a piece of fine grit sandpaper. The fabric won't slip and slide, your writing will be easier and the ink won't bleed since it is like writing on paper. Just thought I would share one of my tricks.

Teresa, Thank you :c) I used iron on transfer paper and my printer, just picked a font I liked, sized it, made 16 copies (12 per page), printed and then cut the words out as close to the letters as I could and ironed them in place.
I tried a fabric marker/pen first but didn't like the way it bled out on the fabric..ehhhhg! My husband suggested the transfer paper and I am glad he did.. I knew there was another reason why I keep him around lol..

I received my blocks today ladies! Lovely! I'm going to have to go in search of a different fabric pen. The one I found wrote so thick and most of y'all have nice thin writing. I need to run over and sign up for the next round. Thank you all for the work you put into your blocks.

I have sent everyone's blocks out this morning except the one that I didn't receive. I will put that person in the next swap. I hope everyone enjoys their blocks and that their stash of blocks are growing. I guess I didn't realize that it is going to take quite a while to receive enough blocks to make a full-size quilt. Maybe I might have to settle for something smaller. I just love the blocks this time around. Beautiful!

Thanks Julie, for your work on the swap. I just partnered up the first swap I organized and I am realizing some boo-boos I've made. Nothing that cannot be remedied but still it makes me sad to mess up. Looking forward to the blocks. Smiles, Beth

I will wait until Wednesday June 9th to receive the last two remaining blocks. If I don't receive them I will have to send the blocks out without them because I will be on my way to the "Farmgirls on the Loose" Laura Ingels Wilder tour in Pepin, WI with Fiddlehead Farms - Diane the morning of the 10th. If I don't receive the last two blocks I will just keep them for the next swap exchange. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will be in my mail in time.
