Posted - Mar 10 2010 : 3:06:19 PM Some of you may have heard of the phenomenon of mail art.
Here's the link to the mailart that MJF has received: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/MailArt/
We’ve been exchanging mail for six years now!! The range of masterpieces we’ve traded has been amazing…some arrive garnished in buttons, ribbon, photographs, etc. and some are simply a beautiful postcard from somewhere I’ve never ventured but love to know of.
Receiving real mail is such a thing of the past, but not around here! So for those of you who’d love to swap mail art with some like-minded people…
Let’s officially start ‘er back up!
The cool thing about mail art is that you don't have to think up one-liners to send to a complete stranger. And it's not as committed as a pen pal. All you have to do is decorate a post card (or scrap of cardboard and call it a postcard) or an envelope and send it off once a month. Found objects, bits of blurry photos you were going to toss when you purged your photo box, your best friend's favorite saying - the sky is the limit.
So...here's the info from ceejay48
So-o-o-o-o let's get started by: FIRST THING: post to the forum you wish to participate AND email me with your info including: - forum name - "real" name - complete mailing address
SECOND THING: get started on you first mail art project
We can get things rolling so that we can mail our first art project for the month of APRIL.
As described in Meg's post, you will mail to a DIFFERENT farmgirl each month. I will email you those names each month as we go.
Sign-ups will be perpetual - meaning you can "jump in" any time and get going for the next month.
Let's have some fun!! THANKS! CJ
A huge thanks to ceejay48 for coordinating this fabulous Mail Art! Have fun!

Posted - Dec 27 2010 : 07:01:46 AM Kris, thank you for my Christmas Tree. You used so many different mediums, I don't know where to begin. Cordage, buttons, decupage (sp?) and even an interesting wrapper. I love it. Please forgive me for not having thanked you sooner, it arrived on the 23rd, and I am just now getting to the computer. Hope you had a very Merry Christmas, your mail-art brightened mine up, too.
Have a Happy New Year N. Susan Harmon

Posted - Dec 27 2010 : 06:50:16 AM Hello y'all. And happy new year!
My computer is messed up so I am not able to email anyone using the little email thing here. So I was wondering if Susan Harmon had gotten my mail art. I mailed it a few weeks ago finally. Anyway, I was just wondering.
And I am a little sad because I never got any mail art for Dec. I am so enjoying everyone elses though. Such talented ladies here.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
