Ok, I think I got everyone. YAY!! Let me know if I missed someone or you can't find your partner. Have fun!! Hugs, Channah
Hi Everyone! So sorry it has taken me so long to update this.
Sign up ends July, 12th. Please, please remeber when you sign p to put how many partners you would like to swap with. :)
I will post partners on July 13th so please remember to check back here and see who your partner is. :)
Mail by date will be July 30th. If you need more time to mail your surprise please let your parnter(s) know.
Remember to send at least 2 nature surprises to each of your partners. You can send more if you would like but no less than 2. :)
please make sure that your nature surprises are well wraped so they don't break or get damaged by the mail.
Remember this is a nature swap so it can be anything you find in nature. You can send a little baggie of dirt but Please don't fill a box full of just dirt. If your partner does not want any dirt please be mindful of that and don't send any. You can send other things like shells, wildflowers, cool shaped rockes, etc. If you want to decorate something like a rock please go ahead.
I think this covers it. If at any time something comes up and you are no longer able to be in the swap Please e-mail me before the 12th so I know not to partner you up. If you would like to change the number of partners that you would like please feel free to e-mail me or post here and I will change it for you. If you don't see your name on the list below Please let me know. I don't want anyone to miss out on this swap.
Again, if you have any questions please feel free to e-mai me or post here. Hugs!! Channah

Posted - Sep 29 2010 : 5:17:15 PM CityChick, thank you so much for your nature package. I really like the info on The Grove and the Hickory Nuts. I had never seen any before. Your Maple "angel wings" are different from the maples we have here. Yours are straighter, ours have an angle like a boomerang.

Posted - Sep 29 2010 : 3:56:04 PM Hi Kris, Thank you for the Nature box....I rec'd it yesterday.......It reminded me of home with all those sea shells, they're different than the ones we have here in Florida, but the same as the ones in NO. CA and Oregon where I moved here from....I loved the little Sand dollar, so cute, and I loved the dried Queen Ann's Lace! I forgot all about that, because we don't have that here either! It was a fun box! Thank you!

Posted - Sep 23 2010 : 11:09:45 AM Claudia, it was my pleasure to send them to you and I'm so happy you are enjoying them. I do so love teeny, tiny things and good old fashioned heirlooms.
If anyone else didn't hear back from their swap partner or mailed and didn't get anything in return, please email me and I will see about sending you some PA nature beauty (and you won't need to send me anything.)
Blessings, staci FG# 973 :o )

Thanks so much for the wonderful things you sent. I have the quartz and stone on my desk and the pressed wildflower is on my bullentin board. The "weeds" and sage were beautiful.

Posted - Sep 20 2010 : 7:18:14 PM Staci, I feel so humbled that you would send some of your treasures to me to make up for one that I didn't receive. I absolutely love your choices. That shell and those acorns are the teeniest, tiniest things I have ever seen. An old wives tale says that a lost feather is a drop of blood from the bird...thank you for sharing. The sandstone and the fossils stone are likewise wonderful, and the history of your columbine leaf is most inspiring, as I believe one God sends His love to us from previous generationns with the plants they once loved. Thank you for sharing that from your great grandmother. I will treasure what you sent, and again thank you so much!

Posted - Sep 06 2010 : 11:31:03 PM Kris, can you tell me what to expect from the red bud if I plant it? Is it a flower, shrub, or tree? Will the seeds survive a long winter or should I plant them in the spring? |

Posted - Sep 03 2010 : 5:12:27 PM Glad you like the Nature treasures, April and Staci. It was fun gathering all the things. Staci, glad your husband likes the salt. Morton salt company actually has two plants on the edge of the salt flats where they harvest and clean the salt.

Posted - Sep 03 2010 : 11:16:55 AM Wow, thanks for the box of fun treasures Alicia! And the letter and photos, too. (My husband loved the salt from Bonneville). I'm so glad you had a nice trip and let us share in your treasures. Thank you.
I loved seeing and hearing about the different things everyone was sending and receiving through this swap. Helps me appreciate more what's right outside my door. I just don't take the time to realize that not everyone has acorns, for instance. It's been a blessing.

Posted - Aug 31 2010 : 6:47:00 PM Hey Debbie. I'm glad you got it. My granddaughter, Kansas, found the bug carcas. I think that's what it is. I have Buff Orpington chickens and they are beautiful. I love their feathers. And the spotted ones are Barred Rock and guinea. I hope you can plant the red bud seeds. I have a bunch that I am going to throw out in the yard and I hope the chickens don't eat them.

Posted - Aug 31 2010 : 5:30:51 PM Hi Kris, when I came home from work yesturday your box had arrived! My husband and I had a good time opening and looking at everything. We grew up in CA so we enjoyed seeing acorns again and discussing the differences between CA and GA acorns! I'm going to try the horse mint when my arthritis acts up, and I'm going to try your peppermint too! What fun! Your wreath is beautiful and I hung it right up! Hey everyone you should see it, it's made of sweet gum seed pods with dried flower heads and feathers all around. Kris you must have the most gorgeous chickens, they have beautiful feathers. Is the bug a katydid? You really out did yourself, thank you so much! Debbie |

Posted - Aug 30 2010 : 9:13:33 PM Hi Kris, so glad things arrived in one piece! Capt. Cook campground is a 4-5 hour drive, one of my favorite places to camp. Its on a cliff overlooking the inlet, and there is a lake across the road on the other side. The little shell is the only shells we have found on that beach. The little feathers came from my pet zebra finch, I guess that was cheating but I didn't find any feathers outside. The snail shell was from Cheney lake which is close by. Most of the flowers come from my yard and I started gathering in the spring and pressing them, I really enjoyed working with them and making the pictures. I haven't recieved your box yet and I'm looking forward to it. Thanks again for being my partner! Debbie |

Posted - Aug 30 2010 : 11:30:16 AM Debbie! I just got your nature swap package. I love every single thing in there! I hope you took pictures because I can't do it. Did you dry the flowers for the cards? They are so pretty. And the big card! I have got to find a frame for them all. I will not be able to send those to anyone. And I bet you made the bookmark too. I love it. And the post card of Alaska that tells so many things about it. And the sand and pebbles from Capt. Cook campground. Is that near you? And those 2 little pictures are so pretty. Then I opened the little matchbox. Oh my goodness! I have never seen such small feathers! They are so cute. What did they come from? And there were 2 dried rosebuds and a snail shell and another little shell. Thank you SO much! I just love it all. You are so sweet. Now I hope mine doesn't pale in comparison. Thank you, thank you.

Posted - Aug 30 2010 : 08:31:29 AM Thank you Diane for the box of goodies that arrived Saturday. I didn't think I was ready for fall yet, but the berries and seed pod just have me feeling that it's time to start getting out the autumn colors. Beautiful feathers, too and I have a great place to display the birdnests. They really are wonderful creations. Thank you.

Posted - Aug 27 2010 : 09:23:18 AM Wow, Carla! Thanks for the great pictures. Those feathers are beautiful.
I still have to package my goodies. I read you could put things like dried flowers in little baggies you blow up with air and seal around the stems.
Can't wait!

Posted - Aug 26 2010 : 7:59:13 PM Jess, I got your package this afternoon. Everything arrived intact. Thank you for the lovely note, and the wonderful East coast shells. I have never found things like that along the WA or OR beaches. The Leaf and Sea Oats are beautiful. I have seen swan but never up close enough to have some feathers. Thank you for the almost white sand. I hear that Florida beaches are noted for their white sands. Hope the picture arrived safely. Think I will continue to press more little flowers & interesting things I find in the woods. I will remember them when they are framed. Thank you again soooo much!
