I hosted a pot holder swap in the fall and it went very well. There were two partners that did not get anything in return and hopefully that does not happen again!

I'm going to do the same rules as last time,

1. Make two pot holders.
2. Have them sent out by April 1st.
3. sign up ends march 15th
You can e-mail your partner with your addresses and what not.

If you would like to sign up just leave me a comment here (Please don't e-mail me because alot of my e-mails go to my spam folder)[/purple]

Joyce,

did your potholders come? I can't remember if you told me or not?

It takes so long for things to get to Canada.

Glad you like them Beth! My youngest boy, Paul, picked out the soap for you. We had to stand there and smell all the different varieties, hahahaha. So yours does have a nose print or two on it :) The bright potholder made me think of spring and summer and rainbow sorbet. :)

Annette and Anna, I'm so so sorry your swaps were so bad, nobody should get cheated like that, please send me your addresses I'd be happy to make you potholders.
Liz
And please don't feel as though you have to send anything in return, you already did your part.

Oleta and Nicole, I'm glad you liked the pot holders, I had fun making them.

Oleta, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!! I'm glad they came on your Birthday.

Beth Jones-

Just a quick note to let you know yours should be on their way by the end of the week! We've had a spell of nice weather and I got a little busy mucking horse barns, turning the compost pile, and tilling the garden. I have tulips about to open! And then we went added another animal to the zoo.....Animals actually. Two adorable little leppy calves, who are waiting on their bottle at the moment.
The 2nd one is allmost done. I'll stay inside this afternoon during nap time and get it done!
And I'll find a moment to get a blog post of the calves if anyone wants to check em out!

Claudia, I'm interested in who were/was the partners/partner that failed to return a pot holder in the last swap you hosted. It's strange that you said in your original post "There were two partners that did not get anything..." and here we are again. I have to unsubscribe from this swap as I am feeling so down.

Hi Liz,
My pot holders arrived today. Thank you so much: they are lovely. You are a very talented knitter and I will think of you when I use them. Just beautiful :)

I am glad that you liked mine too. I really enjoyed making them and they seemed perfect for a farmgirl. Glad you like the soap. I can't remember which scents I mailed. I should have put a little wrap on them.
This was my first swap and it was just perfect.
Nice to have got to know you better,
Nicola

Anna, amen sister.. thats exactly it! I surely could have mailed mine to you instead and known they were put to good use. Although,
I do pray that nothing terrible has happened to her or her family; a short note to us would have been sufficent.

btw i have a nice bottle of blackberry merlot, we can wine together lol.

Mamashaw, I'm with you! We had the same partner (why would she ask for two partners & pull a no-show {or no-potholder :)] Like you, I am very disappointed...it's not just that I didn't get an exchange, it's the lack of respect & integrity. She's never even given an excuse! Or thanked me for mine! Wish I hadn't sent my potholders to her; I'd mail 'em to you. Misery loves company. Think I'll go wine a bit...
mamashaw Posted - Apr 19 2010 : 4:54:47 PM
Well as my first swap goes, this one was not so good.... my swap partner has not held up her end. My potholders were by no means perfect but I did put time, effort, a cuss word or two, and love into them, I hope they are used well and enjoyed but I am still left with a sour taste so to speak.

Liz, I know what you mean about feeling out of your league. I have received some awesome and beautifully made items. If only I can get up to these standards, my heart is in the right place and I think yours is too. What wonderful women!

Oleta and Nicola,
I did get to the post office yesterday, along with all the last minute tax filers and off your packages went.

Nicola,
I received my pot holders yesterday, I was so happy to see it when I got home from work. What adorable pot holders!
When I opened them the first one I saw was the little girl in the red apron and she looks like my daughter when she was young (she is 28 now) I was so touched by them. Your soap smells hevenely, is that peppermint? and something else too? It smells like you scented it with really good essential oils? I can't wait to jump in the shower this morning to try it.

I really hope you and Oleta aren't dissappointed with my pot holders, I am WAY, WAY out of my league here with all of you very talented farm gals. (I'm starting to second guess joining the tote swap)
Time to get my day going
Liz
