Posted - Dec 01 2009 : 6:11:28 PM Hello everyone!
I am hosting a Signature/Friendship Quilt Block Exchange. If you are interested please join us. The quilt block example can be seen on this website: www.quilterscache.com/S/SignatureBlock.html
Rules:
1. Block size to be sent in will be 6 1/2".
2. The center piece of the block will be white or white on white only. The rest of the block can be what ever you like.
3. Print your name, city, and state on the white portion of the block. It must be in black permanent marker or embroidered in black.
4. All blocks will be sent to me along with a self-addressed stamped envelope for your receiving blocks.
5. No embellishments.
I am hoping that everyone that joins can make the number of blocks that everyone requires. But, if you send in only 1 block you will only get 1 block back.
I will be taking sign-ups through January 1. Send-in date would be February 15. I will email everyone with my name and address as the send-in time nears. I will not be posting the names that will be joining. That will be a mystery until you receive your blocks.
Good Luck Ladies!

Posted - Apr 02 2010 : 09:57:17 AM Thank you all for your blocks! A big thank you to Julie!! FYI to everyone, after washing and cutting my blocks I starched them pretty heavy so you may want to rinse them a bit carefully or not. Happy quilting! Heather

Posted - Mar 30 2010 : 09:12:30 AM I hate to inform everybody that there were only 14 people total that participated in the exchange. I waited until yesterday to send out the blocks. Thinking that some other blocks would be sent. I have returned the extra blocks to everyone. I had fun hosting the swap. But now I understand about the whip. hehehe I can't wait to see how everyone uses their blocks. I will be making a wall hanging for my porch. But then again I might host another one just to get more blocks. We will see...

Posted - Mar 23 2010 : 05:33:02 AM Good Morning Ladies, Trust me...patience is not my virtue. But, I wanted this swap to be fun and with no stress. In addition, I wanted a lot of blocks. (hehehehe) But, spring is just around the corner for me and I would like to get this quilt done before the beautiful weather sets in. I heard from 2 people so far. One is sending in and one more is out. I will keep everyone updated.

Posted - Mar 22 2010 : 11:16:55 AM Julie, If you like, keep an extra set and send me back the extra. I can always use them in another scrap quilt. I think I sent you 25 of each. And I agree too that Julie did a great job of hosting and giving us plenty time to get our blocks done. Julie has lots of patients. Unlike me when I host a swap. I have my whip in hand ready to start cracking.
(shhhhh.....by the way, I will be hosting a round robin in the hen house. If you want to join come on by. If we do not have enough participants, I will host it here in the farmgirl swap room starting sometime in April).

I can't remember how many I sent of each block, and I also sent my blocks. Please keep an extra set (if there is one) and send any extras back to me. Thanks!

Posted - Mar 22 2010 : 08:10:22 AM Julie,
Thank you once again for having the patience to be the "mother hen" in this swap. Its to bad you have to track people down. I think your final mail date give those stragglers more than enough time to communicate with you. Sometimes life happens but its nice if you let those depending on you in on it. Your doing a wonderful job and I look forward to recieving my blocks.
I sent 22 of each type, which it looks like was to many, will you send me back my extras? I sent my own blocks to you to! LOL
HUGS!!! Heather

Posted - Mar 22 2010 : 06:10:28 AM Kathy -
I love scrappy quilts. Last year I made 5 scrappy quilts: a Christmas using blocks from at least 4 different swaps, a 9-patch from a swap, another 9-patch from the same swap, a kitty quilt using swap blocks, and a scrappy BOM (I didn't make all blocks but put together what I had). I've got more kitty blocks, jar blocks, Christmas blocks, 9-patches,and others to make into quilts this year. I am currently in a swap for scrappy stripped blocks (my month to receive them is July, and I can't wait) and another for friendship star blocks. I, too, am determined to make quilts to use up some of my multitude of stash, since I hope to be moving to the country soon and cringe when I think of all my craft stuff that needs to be moved.

Posted - Mar 21 2010 : 8:43:46 PM Hello Ladies,
There was a total of 19 people in the swap... down from the original 24. I have all the blocks ready to send out except there are 5 people that haven't sent their blocks to me. I will be emailing the other 5 and asking if they plan on sending their blocks. This will delay sending out the blocks to everyone. This is the list of people I have received blocks from so far. Please let me know if you are still planning on sending your blocks in. I plan on sending out the blocks on Saturday the 27th of March.
