What is Eco Clothing,,is that where one takes several old pieces of clothing and cuts it at funny angles and just stitches it together ? or is it the kind of fabric...
I thought it WAS cutting old clothing at funny angles and sewing it together at funny angles...saw a coat like that and loved it....any ideas anyone ?

This is amazing. It looks as if it is made of sweater knits. Very impressive. It must be warm.

Go to "Gathered Up" and look for "Over 50 Farmgirls".

A farmsister called bearclover has an etsy shop that sells restyled clothing. Her link can be found on the Over 50 Farmgirl thread. Check it out.

I've seen some very beautiful eco-clothing made from old sarongs from Asia. I consider eco=clothing to be clothes that are restyled, or made from organic cotton or other organic fabrics--my alpaca wool coat is eco-clothing.Lots of it is made in other countries and reflects that country's traditional styles. I have several pieces of clothing that fit that description. and it's got to be fair trade as well. For me, at least.

Cutting clothing at funny angles and sewing them back together is called "restyling". Restyling is also all about taking a garment that is out of date and updating or sprucing it up. It is a form of eco clothing. Several designers are now making "no waste" clothing - using every scrap of fabric to make a garment. The garments look a little funky but I like the concept. I have my own type of eco clothing -- I live in a city and shop the dumpsters for good/interesting fabric.
