Anyone like to wear clothes from a different time period?
I love the Victorian and Edwardian time periods, and love to make Lacey or smocked outfits to wear.

Seems like the last several months, I've been "dressing up" a lot lately. I was dressed as the 1940's for a Halloween party last October. Then I went to a "Downton Abbey" tea at our library, where we were told to dress like the period from the 1900's to the 1920's. Then I went to a friend's 50th birthday where we all dressed like the 1940's. Dressed my daughter as the 1950's for school spirit day, and then again this weekend, my Farmgirl Sisterhood chapter dressed up for our Downton Abbey themed tea. Funny thing is, I bought nothing for these events. Everything came from my closet. I'm definitely born in the wrong generation!

Janice, I love hats, too. So pretty.

I took one of those funny "quizzes" on Facebook, "Which Movie Star Are You?" I got sensible "Lauren Bacall" and should live in the 40's. Big shocker, lol.

And I also love the "Victorian" look. Anything frilly and feminine.

Nicole

When it comes to time period clothes I like just about all of them except for the 1960/hippie look. What I really like to wear is hats. Big brim hats to church with scarfs, flowers and butterflies that I decorated myself. I am the only person in are large church about 75 people to where a hat. When I don't wear them for awhile some one will ask me .... "When are you going to start wearing you hats again?"
"I tell them in the Spring." I have about 12, one for almost any occasion.

I like Victorian and Edwardian styles too, though I'm working on actually wearing them every day. I need to have my baby, and then I'm going on a sewing binge for all the patterns I love! :)

I like the clothing from the Meiji Era of Japan. The kimono are easy to make and to wear although one has to learn how to move in them.
