I hate to admit this, but my calves don't let me put on the long type boots. Is there a brand out there for legs that are a little on the thick side?? |

Posted - Jul 02 2012 : 2:24:01 PM Thanks, Heather. Once I got to a place with "real" coboy boots (not the fashion kind at Macy's etc) I actually did not have trouble fitting in most of them Got a fun pair to celebrate the end of the school year! I will try to look for your buckaroo series. |

Posted - Jul 02 2012 : 12:28:51 PM There are several Ariats that I have found that work with larger calfs.....my favorites are the "buckaroo" series from Tony Lama, good luck in your search.

Posted - Jun 10 2012 : 07:24:08 AM Justin also makes the shorter boots called Jypsys. I find them more comfortable than the fatbaby's. You might want to try both on and then decide. Amy, my dd has the same problem that you have and she can wear Jypsys. Just a thought.

Posted - Jun 07 2012 : 11:35:51 AM GREAT NEWS!! Bought myself my first pair of cowboy boots- and they fit fine -Got regular Ariat ones, they are not real tall, but not the really short ones. I slept with them next to the bed!! Yea!! Thanks for all the suggestions!!![](icons/icon_smile_big.gif) |

Posted - May 22 2012 : 5:07:04 PM I too have thick calves (thanks to the beefy build I've inherited from my father) - all muscle, but beefy (my much skinnier sister fares no better, so ya know it's the jeans) and I've never had a problem with cowboy boots because of my calves, since they tend to fall low enough. My problem is that I have short, wide feet with a high arch. Boots that are a good fit length wise don't have enough room at the ankle bend for my high-arched foot to fit in. The pair I own now is about a an inch and a half too long in the toe. Anyone else have this problem?

Posted - May 01 2012 : 10:45:23 AM Justin boots also makes a shorter version that is cheaper than Ariat. At our Rural King and Tractor Supply, they are about $70. I've had mine for 2 years. Love them.

Posted - Apr 23 2012 : 03:18:12 AM Hi :) I have to chime in. Ariat Fat Baby Boots are the way to go, like the other gals stated. I own 2 pairs & one zips up the front for ease. I LOVE Them ;) eBay has the best price, I have found. I payed 85.00, including shipping, for the first pair, then a year later, I payed 89.00, including shipping, for the second pair.

Posted - Apr 17 2012 : 06:38:29 AM Have you actually tried on cowboy boots?
I can't wear long type boots that are fashion types (say at like Macy's). But, I've never had a problem with cowboy boots, they are pretty straight, as they are a lot of times meant to go over jeans.
That being said, I haven't tried them on but they do look like they may be for bigger calves, and I've wanted to get some for a while, the short ariat boots, maybe....I know there was a brand I was looking at online for a long time, and now I'm not finding them, they were chubby boots, and called something like that....uhg! They were short and chubby! And came in really really cute colors and styles-cowboy, but you know different artistry.
