Posted - Aug 22 2011 : 07:21:13 AM The last days of summer are here, and school starts tomorrow. So, I took a few extra hours each morning to enjoy the quiet time, the sunrise and sip too much coffee.
One day last week, I was sitting at the computer, looking out the window, and again sipping coffee. My 9 year-old comes up behind me and taps me on the shoulder.
"You know what Mom?"
"What"?
"I'm becoming just like you - scraggly hair, walking around with a robe on, and wearing slippers."
HA HA HA HA HA!
I just had to share.

Posted - Aug 30 2011 : 5:24:33 PM I think that is more of my weekend uniform. No way am I getting up earlier to watch the sunrise or anything else! I get up at 5:30, take a shower and get dressed and am at my desk in the basement by 6:00 (just can't work as well if I don't shower and get dressed first)! My DD dresses more like that in the mornings - lounge pants, T-shirt, scraggly hair, and slippers. Glad to see her going back to school just to see her cleaned up every morning!

My daughter, now 28, will sometimes say something like "oh no, I'm turning into my mother" and just sometimes it things I can be proud of.
