Now that was vague! I'm watching Oh Brother Where Art Thou and I really like the clothes that the "sirens" are wearing while singing Go To Sleep You Little Baby. It's cotton, flowy, feminine, and just has that something that I love. Any help?

I love the sirens' outfits, too!!!! I want to make some camisoles and gowns, but daytime clothes are first on the agenda right now!!! I'm going to google for Magnolia Pearl.

I love the same styles you do. I saw a website in the magazine you may want to look at if you can sew (I can't), www.folkwear.com, and click on romantic patterns for the flowing type dresses and skirts,

For soft and flowy I sometime update nightgown patterns or Ren. Fest costume patterns updated. They use lots more fabric than normal patterns.

May the force of the Horse be with you.

I am wearing a turquoise flowy skirt at this moment. I got it here at the beach, and it feels so nice with a pair of flip flops and a t-shirt. I remember that scene from that movie, and I also thought their costumes were great. So feminine and yet comfy. That is why I like flowy skirts.

Check out magnolia pearl -just google her- I think her name is Robyn Brown. She has some cool stuff-also some outlandish stuff for skinny girls(I am not one!) but very good ideas.

Blessings,

If you can sew, maybe you can alter a cotton nightgown. I have a next-to-ancient gown I bought (I think from Vermont Country Store) that kind of looks like the one that big girl with the brown hair is wearing.
Incidentally, that is my husband's favorite scene in that movie!

I got a long flowy white cotton skirt at the thrift a few weeks ago. It really reminds me of a summer garden party in the south. Not that I have been to one! But I plan on getting a lot of wear out of it this summer. I can see that if I could sew, they would not be hard to make.
