Posted - Oct 25 2016 : 07:21:47 AM I don't know what else to call it, but I was at the local thrift store and there was a vintage green handled jar grabber a person uses when getting out hot jars out of water bath canners. I was tickled pink!!!!!! I lost mine somewhere down the line and needed one. It was a dollar, and has the vintage green handles!!! I also found some other misc vintage stuff. Of course, all things I needed LOL!!!! |

Posted - Oct 25 2016 : 08:45:51 AM According to Ball Blue Canning Book it's called a jar lifter. I've been known to call it "that thingy".
I'm always in search of a vintage green handle piece that I don't have. Been collecting them for years and so enjoy the hunt. One of my prize green handles has a wire basket to hold pieces of soap. My guess it would be lye soap. You swished it around in the water for dishes. I like it but I wouldn't want to give up my Dawn to use one everyday.
