I am going to teach a class called live with purpose and intent. This is going to be a vision board class. I need to figure out how to supply a board 2'x3' or larger, that is light enough to carry and thumb tacks, pins, etc can poke into the board. I want it paintable, maybe covered with fabric or wallpaper, etc. I want to give the students a choice. The board will be covered with pictures out of magazines, scrapbook paper with sayings, photos, tickets, etc. I have a plea out on Facebook, but have not come up with an idea. Ideas anyone?

Kem,
Soooooo sorry I'm just now seeing your post and you've probably figured that all out by now. I believe it is 1/2 inch thick.

How thick is foam board ceejay? I guess I could double it if needed. That is a really good solution. I am going to try it. I may use a big ornate frame for the border.

Kem,
I used foam board, covered with fabric to make a bulletin board for my glamper trailer. Very lightweight and you can use pushpins, etc. in it.
You could probably paint it as well. I got the pieces at Walmart. I don't remember the size . . . I cut it to fit in a particular spot in the trailer. I used Alleene's Tacky White glue brushed on to glue on the fabric.

I will look up what a quilt board looks like. I just may work. Can I buy these at Walmart, Joann's, or Hobby Lobby?

how about a folding quilt board, simple, light weight and cheap, it would be paintable, and you could add fabric by useing spray adhesive...
