Getting ready to recycle empty Valentine candy box DH gave me when I realized the box was sturdy and cardstock it was made of could be used for another project. Or why not leave the box intact and decoupage it to store some sewing notions or jewelry. Looked online and LOTS of interesting ways to repurpose these. Can you imagine how much these holiday type things are ending up in the trash? Some ideas are of course using as a storage box for small items, storing clippings, recipes, keepsakes, make picture frames/shadow boxes, section inside box with cardboard/popsicle sticks by hot gluing for craft supplies, reuse molded candy section as a painters palette, line box with plastic or foil for gelatin mold, glue several boxes together for a cake stand, recover with gift wrap for gift box for wedding shower/lingerie, baby shower/sweet baby items, birthday gifts, recover with paper or fabric of choice or paint it and make a heart-shaped clock, lay on it's side and cut a slit in the side for a cute piggy bank for a little girl's room. Possiblitlies are endless.

If you crochet, make little faux candies like in this pattern

and fill up your box. It'd be a cute centerpiece for a coffee table next February, or a fun addition to a child's play kitchen.
