I hate throwing them away. What have you made with them?

I only write on about two of the ones we hang around the house. I have my own planner in a small 3-ring binder that I put together myself and in that is where I write a lot of this and that.
The ones that get made into things don't have a lot of writing on them. My MJF calendars do have somethings, but most of all they have all the very unique and special "holidays' that are only on that calendar. Days like "Cat Herder Day" and "Wear cowgirl boots today" . . . etc. Lots of those fun days.

I pretty much save them, too. To me, they're sort of a diary of our lives - they're chock full of all sorts of important dates, fun times with friends and family, and exciting things we've done. I treasure them! :)

strange as it sounds, i have kept all the calendars back to when i started at this plant in 2004. i can't count the number of times someone in HR has needed to refernce back to them they were so pretty i couldn't throw them out. and they are glad i didn't.

Gosh, my are so thrashed and tattered. No one in their right mind would want them. You gals must really take good care of your calendars. I need to rethink my chicken scratch method of keeping track of things!

Erin,
Put the calendar part to the inside of the envelope and tape all the edges. Most folks won't go to the trouble of checking it out.

Some time ago I had a calender with pictures of angels in a style that are kind of country that I really liked. I had my hubby make frames for me and I framed them. They are hanging on my walls now, I just put them up after taking Christmas down. I am very fond of angels so I have somewhat of a collection of them.

...envelopes... [giggle]

Ok, well, that's kind of nice. I don't usually write to much on my wall calendars, so I suppose it COULD make nice stationery. I mean, I use old Christmas Cards as Gift Tags, so it wouldn't be much different, I suppose.

I have the nicest calendar with old pictures from fairy tales. I just thought it would be wonderful for someone to frame several and put them in a nursery. I put it on FreeCycle, but didn't get any takers! Maybe I should offer it here.

I have yet to experiment with Smashbooking, but using calendar pages for a background sounds like an excellent idea. Hi Marlene, CJ, and Erin too! I haven't had time to play in any of the swaps lately. I miss them and you gals dearly!

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

Erin,
I have used pages from my Mary Janes Farm as dividers in my planner notebook and I just finished making myself a "smash" book and used several of my favorite from those calendars as pages in that book.
The nice thing about MJF calendars is the pages are heavier paper than some calendars are.
