Great ideas to use Ball jars all year long as decorative items! Thanks for sharing.

Kem, your Christmas craft is fabulous!
I like to turn the mason jars into soap dispensers and add burlap, lace, and button decorations around the jar. It's super easy and adds a pretty touch to the kitchen sink!

I have some old bail and wire jars that a friend gave me when she moved. I use them for buttons and for bath salts. I have small solar light strings in some different size ones. My grandkids like to use one for a night light when they sleep over.
I store loads of dry foods in them, beans, pasta, powdered drinks and soup mixes.

Nancy,
Love your buttons and jars collection! I have LOTS of Yankee Candle jars that I use for my buttons, sorted mostly by color!

I know we are talking about ball jars, but here is a craft my daughter-in-law and I did this past weekend. We wired rusty canning lid rings/bands together for the base and put the Christmas balls inside the rings. I had a bunch of Dollar Tree decorative things from last year so we incorporated those into the project. I really like how this turned out. I teach craft classes at our local library, can you guess what the Christmas craft for Dec. is?

Love all the jars full of things. I have many myself. At Christmas I put little scenes in them, carollers, snowmen, nutcrackers, fake snow and set them all over the house. Made them for gifts and everyone loved them.

I saw this post as I was looking around at some of the older ones and thought I would post this picture. I have lots of Ball jars, these are three of them. I hope there is only one picture, I spent forever trying to remember how to load them. Si I kept doing it over and over until surprise it worked. BUT I forgot to leave a message. I need to lay down.

They made yellow ball jars?! Neat! I have to start keeping my eyes open for other colors! I see blue a lot more than green (I've only seen one green jar in my life and they wanted $20 and it had a big chip in the top! But it was neat to see!) but never any other colors.

I keep finding more of the jars with the glass lids...I had a few before we moved here that I forgot about, then found the other day. I also found some blue glass jars with zinc lids (which we soaked in vinegar to get the gunk off of) at an Amish store about 15 miles from here. They were selling jars 12 for $4, so I picked out the blue ones, then finished it out with regular glass canning jars. I love them for spices, pasta, dehydrated fruits and vegetables. i even found some rubber gaskets for the ones with glass lids at the hardware store.

I keep a multitude of items in my fruit jars. Mostly buttons and notions such as lace and cloth tape measures. Also good for storing bandaids, q-tips, sunflower seeds, bread crumbs, and so forth.
I also made it a game to get fruit jars of various makes, so I have not only Ball, but Kerr, Queen, Presto and others.

I saw a jar with a solar light sitting in the top. So, I tried it. I got one of the inexpensive solar lights and pulled the stake off of the bottom and sat it in the top of a jar. It sits out side my front door. It would be very pretty in a blue jar.

Super cute ideas! I often bring out stuff to drink to the family in jars. They always smile and say I'm "cute". Love that soap dispenser idea and using them for votives!

I love my vintage cobalt blue ball jars! I store my dried herbs in them and drink ice tea out of 'em too!

Thanks for the link!
