The electric wire around our sacrifice area was making a popping noise so I checked it out. The grass is so tall that it was leaning against the wire and causing the pop. I cleared the grass away and the popping didn't stop. The wire was snug up against a tree. The fence charger is a Jolt 2000 which I have accidentally connected with in the past and don't care to experience that again. So I wasn't sure what to do to get the wire away from the tree. Well, I found something plastic-------the leftover cover for an immunization needle! Perfect and no shock to me.

Except--I went out yesterday and the fence was popping in the same place. I guess the current melted through the plastic. I looked on the ground and couldn't find anything. So I screwed in a fence insulator.

Hey! Whatever works! Great example of using what is on hand! That is a true farmgirl.
