I'm cleaning up the kitchen and going through my cupboards, and I have tons of mateless butter knives that don't match any tableware sets I have. I'd like to make them into something else so I dont have to toss them, or worse, let them clutter my silverware drawer. I have a couple real silver, but most are stainless.

If you've seen any crafts done with old silverware please let me know!

I like JoJo's idea, I do the same with jelly spoons when I give a jar of jam or jelly.

I was going to say garden markers, or put in a vintage type gift basket kind of like what Joanna said!

They also are great to give when you are giving a gift from the kitchen.

I've seen hooks made out of old silverware. Drill a hole through the handle - then curve the knife part up. The one I saw curled the tip of the knife back down a bit and curled it under. Very cute.

Ah, I was wondering how I would put text on them to "mark" I dont really have any engraving tools or anything (or metal stamps /sigh)

I also have made both the chimes and plant markers. I have a small set of metal stamps (hammer the stamp to set letters) and use them for marking this way, have fun!

I've made windchimes with the butter knives along with spoons and forks hanging from a metal cup. Sounds so nice when the wind start blowing them.

I've seen windchimes, they sound so beautiful. I have also seen bracelets. Some poeple use them for plant markers as well.
