I have been on the (not so) active search for a kitchen type step ladder/chair,,,for some time and finally found one!
I hesitated at the $4.95 tag price but then said,,,buy it cuz it won't be here long! so I did....
Well for once, I actually did not paint something! OMG!
But I gave it a through cleaning & then took off the old vinyl & batting and re-upholstered it with new batting & fabric...
and Voila! Instant cute!
I posted it on my Trailer blog as I plan to use it for my trailers & camping.....as a ladder to hang things(instead of using an upside down 5-gal bucket)and as extra seating....

My Great- Grandma had one of those! I have been looking for one of them myself! I found one at a rummage sale that needed to be completely re done. They wanted $45 for it! Needless to say I left it there for that price especially since I would have had to re do the entire thing... I used to help my Great Grandma cook, watch her make pancakes on her huge cast iron skillet, help watch dishes, and the women in the family used to make me sit on it so I would not be underfoot in the kitchen for our big family get together meals! Good times! This summer I am going to continue my quest for one of these too! Congrats on finding one!

Wow, my grandmother had a yellow one. I have fond memories of her sitting on it while she washed dishes.

That's so great, Grace! Kudos on a great find, a great deal, and a great re-upholstering job! :)

Casie! My grandmother's was bright yellow, too! My grandfather was a barber in his retirement... I have very vivid memories of my brother sitting in that step-chair, sweating under the draped barber's cloth, scratching at his itchy neck as Grandpa trimmed away at his little boy locks... Oh! How he'd cry!!! That chair held so many great memories - especially of me climbing up on it to help Grandma make cookies or roll out pie dough! Oh to be with them again!!!

Thanks for sharing the pics and bringing back the fond memories! - Nini

Brings back memories of my Grandmother's kitchen. Her's was bright yellow! She is pretty short so the built in step stool was really a must for her. Do they still sell these new? If not they should!!
