I just got off the phone with my daughter (35)
She told me she was going to Bed, bath & Beyond to get a tool to get rid of cobwebs because her vacuum cleaner hose wouldn't reach her ceiling corners.
When I suggested that she pin a hand towel to her broom, she was flabbergasted. She had never heard of anything so clever.
Honestly, I think our society is completely brainwashed by the marketing "geniuses" out there.
So, I saved her about $12.00

i love it! actually, the broom and hand towel is a good idea... or stand on a stool or chair with your vacuum? i JUST had to clean my cobwebs in the basement and it's absolutely my least favorite chore! i just feel itchy all over, it gives me the heebeejeebies! but i'm terribly grateful to my vacuum cleaner for allowing me to stay as far away as possible from those things...
i always think it's funny when people are just blown away by the fact that you can make just about anything... especially when it comes to food! after becoming a country girl i'm always so happy when i've discovered the recipe for something i never thought of making before because i bought it at the store! i'm blown away by this MJ cracker recipe, so i posted a "status update" on my facebook that i was making them and love them! one of my dad's best friends, who is also a wonderful cook at home, asked me to send him the recipe... one of my other friends replied "go to grocery store, buy crackers, take home and eat". blah...

Shirley, a broken dishwasher in my house would mean I had broken arms, that was too funny,LMAO!!!

I asked a young mother once if she planned to make baby food. She said "I didn't know you could make it". What did she think people did before Gerber? It would never dawn on me to buy it!
Forget buns of steel, I'd rather have buns of cinnamon!

LOL!!!! So true, and even I forget sometimes. I use swiffers on my hardwood floors, and one day I thought, why not just use an old dish cloth that is slightly damp? And then wash it for re-use! Duh.
I had a girlfriend who said her daughter-in-law's sink was filled with dirty dishes. When asked why she said the dishwasher was broken! :) True story.
