I hate "Easter Basket" waste...
Remember those thin cheappie ones we use to get as kids...then they all ended up as land fill waste or in Thrift Shops, they probablly multiplied worse than Rabbits in the Thrift shops 'cuz I always see hundreds of them! lol!
Anyhow, while out perusing a local Thrift I spotted this 'bundt' pan and thought,,hmmm, I could paint this,,,or,,,OMG! how about using it as a basket!! duh!
So I bought it for a mear 99cents...I see them all the time from 99cents to $2.99...anyhow, at this price, it makes a GREAT Easter Basket & can be re-used! How cool is that...hmmm, now to go find another one for me,,,to paint! lol!

A bed pan...too funny! I just posted a link on the milk jug thread how to make a basket out of a milk jug. You can also use paper bags, lunch or grocery size...open a bag, stand it up, and roll the the top of one down almost to the bottom of the bag. The next bag gets stood up inside the first, roll its top down until it touches the top of the first bag and keep doing this with bags until it is the size you like. Makes a surprisingly sturdy basket. You can embellish by sewing the layers together cross stitch style, paint, stamp, color, whatever blows your laundry.

Prayer costs nothing, but is worth the most.

That is a very good idea! You could also find different items to store different themed items. For example, a picnic basket could be filled with summer fun goodies. I never thought of using a pan, though. Good find Grace!

That is soo cute. My kids always used the same basket year after year. We would leave the baskets out the night before with carrots, and a note, and the Easter Bunny would fill them. Then we pack them away until next year. The kids enjoyed seeing their basket year to year.

Forget buns of steel, I'd rather have buns of cinnamon!

Oh Sarah,
I so agree... why limit ourselves to wasteful baskets when we can re-purpose, pans, bowels, shoot even a cowboy boot filled with goodies would make a great idea and then the boot could be once again re-purposed into a planter or bird house....

That is a fantastic idea!!!! I also hate easter baskets. I try to repurpose them, but there are only so many things you can do with flimsy, bright colored baskets. Plus, I don't find them attractive. A bundt pan or anything like that would be a MUCH better alternative!
