Posted - Jan 27 2010 : 09:53:47 AM Hi all! We have two old, smaller metal grain bins on our place that I'd love to repurpose. One would be a great studio and in the other I'd like have a fantastic little guest room. I've seen pictures (rarely) of repurposed grain bins as homes and guest cottages...can anyone help me find more ideas and information?? Pictures would be even better!

Posted - Feb 01 2010 : 08:24:28 AM Thanks so much for that link, It's exactly the kind of info I'm looking for! Our grain bins are smaller, but we have two side by side. I'm thinking craft room/office in one and guest cottage in the other, maybe with a connecting hallway. I'll be sure to post updates when this project gets off the ground.

Posted - Jan 29 2010 : 6:27:04 PM I was curious, so I did a search and found this:

And there's more to be found! I think it's a really kewl idea--talk about repurposing.

Posted - Jan 27 2010 : 4:52:48 PM I've seen the open kind used as large bird cages....my boyfriend has always said he'd love to live in an old grain silo...although I cringe at the idea myself....there used to be a show on HGTV called extreme homes.....I think they've had some grain bins featured on the program....good luck!
