My sister in law worked at Goodwill until recently and there are things that are automatically set aside for online auction.

Kimberly,I wouldn't say they save "the best stuff" for the auctions-my fiddle, while I'm grateful to have it-is a very basic student model. Far from "the best",trust me. I love it,but it's far from being a Rolls Royce,if you know what I mean. Came with a case w/broken hinges-I keep it closed with rubber bands. (that was posted in the auction)

So people donate to goodwill and the stores hold back the best stuff to auction online? I never knew that. Honestly, I'm not sure I care for that notion. What about all the people with no internet access or who don't know about it? I suppose if it generates more revenue for goodwill, that's the ultimate goal.

http://www.shopgoodwill.com/ is the URL in my browser bar-it's the hub that shows you all the online auctions that Goodwill shops nationwide are having.

That link doesn't take me to Goodwill. Is there another one?
