I got this from Focus on the Family...

Best-selling author Jonni McCoy offers money-saving advice in a discussion based on her book, Miserly Moms: Living Well on Less in a Tough Economy.

One of the tips is that the store flyer, which can be viewed online before planning your shopping, has a front and back page...those pages are called "loss leaders". The store is losing money on the items on those pages and they hope the customer comes in and purchases those sale items. Author says that if you will plan your week's menu on those front and back pages, you can save 35% on your total grocery bill.
She has tips about saving money on pancake syrup by making your own, Bisquick (we know better, we use MJ's) and stuff like granola.
The link below is to the Focus on the Family interview with the author, it's very insightful, she gives a lot of her tips.

Author just mentioned www.mygrocerydeals.com
Says if you put in your zip code, it will show all the deals in your zip code.
