I just wanted to share an idea with you gals :)

My husband has a few "cowboy" hats and I wanted to have a safe place for him to place them. I was not willing to pay $25-30.00 for a hat stand so I came up with this idea:

~Tall Candlestick Holder for a pillar candle(from thrift shop or clearance at Hobby Lobby etc.)
~Styrofoam ball
~Scrap felt or fabric

I took the styrofoam ball and cut in in half. I then cut fabric in a circle about 2 inches larger in diameter than the ball. I pinned the felt on the ball securing on the flat side. Then with my trusty glue gun I glued the ball (flat side down) on the candlestick holder.

It came out so nice I plan on making some more for him. It ended up costing me about $6.00 for the candlestick holder I had everything else.

What a wonderful idea. I have one hatstand that I got at a thrift store. It is very nice except for the goofy face someone put on it with a sharpie. I keep meaning to cover it, but you have really created a great item.
