Are great for plant markers in the garden!! You can cut them to any legnth you want, if you use a fine point sharpie, the ink wont run in the rain...very "weartherproof", and the awesome thing is, you can get old mini blinds at thrift stores and garage sales all the time!! Probably 50 cents to a dollar a piece, I discovered this 3 years ago when I cleared my laundry room counters to start all my garden seeds, and the index cards i was using only lasted a week or so before they basically "melted"....so, just before i was about to order some goofy, expensive plant markers from gardeners Supply, I found an old blind in my hall closet, and it just came to me!!!! Anyhow, one blind should make enough tags for 2-4 growing seasons, depending on how much you plant!!! Kelley

That IS a great idea! Thanks for sharing! I hate it when my markers melt! Another thing you can do is take the circles you get from opening a can of veggies and affix that to a tongue depressor after using a nail to punch the name of your crop into the tin. Just blunt the edges first!
