Posted - Jan 20 2009 : 4:38:51 PM I like liquid coffee creamer. But I don't like the price so I take 4 to 5 oz of dry coffee creamer and mix with water and refrigerate this means that a large liquid costing about 3.50 to 4.00 is now costing about .75 and I get 5 bottles out of the large powder jar I would think you could add flavor too.

Posted - Jan 23 2009 : 6:19:35 PM Just plain creamer? Oh, you don't know what you're missing if you prefer fake creamer to real cream! Give it a try, Jamie. I swear, you'll love it and never go back to the other stuff again.

Posted - Jan 22 2009 : 4:42:28 PM You don't necessarily have to give up your creamer, Jamie. What flavor do you prefer? And can you experiment and make your own with extracts and sugar?
Why do they have to put hydrogenated oils in creamer, anyway? That's just disgusting.

Posted - Jan 22 2009 : 05:41:11 AM LOL, Diana. That was a quick convert! Good for you.
Kelley, I've had to resort to honey in coffee before, too. It's different, but not bad.

Posted - Jan 21 2009 : 1:43:29 PM I only like real cream for my coffee too. I read that label on the powder stuff one day and knew I could never use it, no matter how cheap it is. Ruth

Posted - Jan 21 2009 : 11:52:42 AM I too use real cream for my coffee. When my dad had a heart attack a few years ago, the doctor at the hospital told us to avoid all partially hydrogenated oils. He said that was the worst thing for your arteries, and I will never forget he said the liquid coffee creamers were pure artery liners!

Posted - Jan 20 2009 : 7:31:54 PM I'd rather deal with the calories than the chemicals, too, Lisa. At least we can work off the calories. It's a little harder to get rid of the chemicals! Let me know if any of you try some other extracts.

Posted - Jan 20 2009 : 6:31:04 PM Oh Lisa, that sounds so good. As a former Atkins dieter, I still choose whole cream to anything artificial. I know, more calories, but at least I know no chemicals. |

Posted - Jan 20 2009 : 5:31:51 PM Oh, you have to try this one, Diana: I prefer real cream (far fewer chemicals and it's real dairy) and adding vanilla extract and a bit of organic sugar to the carton. I've never measured it, though. I just poured and tasted and poured more until I liked it. I never tried it with any other extracts, but I suppose if any of you were to experiment...
