I know that there is a site for online coupons when buying online.
Is there any place to get coupons for the standard stuff we buy at the grocery.
I remember as a kid the sunday papers were full of coupons but I don't have a major paper around me and so don't even know if they are still in there.
I have seen on the TV that these women go to the store and spend minium amount of dollars for a basket full of food and she does it with coupons.

I never see the coupons

Any links to get them.

Did you know that you can send your unused and even EXPIRED coupons to help military families overseas save money? "The military commissaries overseas accept manufacturer's cents-off coupons for up to six months past their printed expiration dates." Check out this link: http://couponing.about.com/cs/aboutcouponing/a/militaryexpcoup.htm

I buy coupons from eBay all the time! Someone goes out and buys like 20 Sunday papers, they cut out all of the coupons and bundle the same ones together. You bid on them -- you have to figure out how much your willing to bid, the cost per coupon, and the ultimate savings, and if you'll be able to use them all before the expiration date -- but I always save money. I will wait until the coupon item is on sale and then I "stock up" (my sister calls it hoarding...)

Marlene-
Do you belong to Refund Cents? I do a lot of couponing and rebates when I run across them...they sure are hard to find in our neck of the woods, aren't they?

I coupon and also refund or send in rebates for products. Does anyone else do rebates for grocery products? Would anyone like to trade coupons and rebate forms? I have the
newest P & G one for gas.

When I buy a lot of flour I put it in the freezer. I have a 5 gal pail I use for flour otherwise but stays good in freezer. That way I can buy when on sale and not worry about the bugs.

We don't really have any double coupon stores around here. Kmart just recently started to do double coupons on certain dates but I haven't made a trip there yet since the nearest one if about 45 minutes away.
I tend to use coupons and stock up on things when I can combine a store coupon with a manufactor one or see an excellent sale or clearance. Walgreens is actually great for coupon deals since you can use a store and manufactor coupon on one item. They also have alot of free after rebate things each month.

Melanie, I agree. Here in Canada we never have double couponing. I'm getting frustrated with internet coupons that you print yourself, then get to the store and they say they don't take internet coupons!

I try to sign up for samples, too. Here's a Proctor & Gamble site for samples:

www.brandsampler.com

You then choose your country (USA or Canada), register, and get free samples!

I'd be interested in swapping some coupons with you, since we're both in Canada! Email me if you are interested.

I am so "jealous" of you gals in the USA. I've never heard of a store here that doubles coupons. Maybe we could swap some coupons? I get lots in the mail as I fill out surveys for different companies, plus the ones in the newspapers. I hate trhowing them.....if anyone is interested...we could send envelopes filled with coupons we don't need and then get an envelope full of different coupons!

I just bought a bunch of coupons too. I spent about $20 and will end up saving over $200 with the coupons. I like that I could go through and just buy coupons for the items we use. I have to figure out a way to stockpile. We live in the country with tons of mice, so I need to figure out something. Plus I had flour moths last fall, so I'm afraid to put grains in those same cabinets. I use to work at a convenience store and we just put out the newspapers in the recyclables-all we had to keep is part of the front page to prove we hadn't sold them. I'm thinking about going around on Mondays to convenience stores to get the coupons out of them.

The "buying coupons" thing can get confusing but it has paid off big time for me. Once there was a $3 off 2 Huggies CleanTeam coupon. The wipes at Walmart were like $1.64 so I could buy two packages for just 14 cents each after the coupon. I only "paid" 5 or 10 cents each coupon and ordered 20 coupons for I think $1.50 so it was still so worth it. So I got 20 packages of wipes for $2.80 plus the cost of coupons ($1.50) so $4.30 for 20 packages. These are things I usually buy anyway for the kids while we are potty training and they are learning to wipe so I saved over $20 by buying the coupons. I've bought Reach toothbrush coupons for 5 cents each and can get the toothbrushes free at Target since the coupon is $1 off and the toothbrushes are $1...so I'm only paying 5 cents per toothbrush (the cost of the coupons). I've bought free cat food coupons from that site and once got 20 bags of cat food for the cost of the coupon (I think it was 50 cents for a coupon worth $4.99). I stocked up and that food lasted a whole year for the cats. That is when it is worth it to buy coupons, when you know the coupon will get you free or almost free items and you can stock up on several of one thing. I have a huge stockpile of dishwasher tablets, shampoo, pads, etc. just by stocking up on high value coupons.

I'm a little confused about the "buying" coupons thing. I've never heard of buying them before. Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose?

Wow! That was a great question. Sometimes, I don't realize how much money coupons really do save. I am a great one for clipping them out, stashing them in my coupon saver book and then leaving right there when I go to the store.
I wish it was like my grandmother talks about when the ladies in the neighborhood would get together for coffee and clip and trade coupons.
I even saw a movie once where the girls were playing poker for coupons..lol..That sounds like fun!
I sure was born in the wrong era, but then, I'd probably be a whole lot different person now if my lifestyle had been changed. So, counting those blessings!!

Life should NOT be a jounrey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, latte in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming. "WOOHOO, what a ride!"

www.thecouponclippers.com is a great place to buy coupons if you want to buy several of the same type to stock up for a sale. You can get coupons on ebay as well.
