Posted - Jul 19 2020 : 5:22:05 PM I'm a newbie so forgive me if I am beating a dead horse here. But, is anyone reading Jean Grainger's books? Lovely reads very reminiscent of Maeve Binchy's work but even better. I began with "The Tour" series and was hooked. Also maybe I just haven't discovered the right forum, but is there actually a book club anywhere in the various forums? I would probably like to participate. jean |

Posted - Jul 20 2020 : 1:03:24 PM Jean, Oh stories of Ireland and England. Both places of my ancestry. I will definitely be looking into those!
Yes, I've been around the forum for quite a long time now. I truly enjoy this wonderful place Mary Jane has made for us here! So many awesome women and friendships made.

Posted - Jul 20 2020 : 10:55:47 AM Hello Denise -- Oh my, Sister #43 . . . . you must be a charter member. Thank you so much for your reply. Both authors write beautiful stories about life in Ireland and England. All fiction but it's so easy to relate to heroines and the life issues they are dealing with. Maeve Binchy has passed away now. So no more books from her -- Her first was "Light a Penny Candle". Jean Grainger seems to have taken up the gauntlet. I started with her 4-book series, "The Tour" and couldn't put them down. Just wonderful stories . . . . love stories without the graphic sex . . . . dealing with disappointment, loss and anger -- sure, but without offensive language. All in all beautiful reads. I went to my Kindle content to see if I could loan any of them to you but alas I cannot. jean |

Posted - Jul 20 2020 : 06:22:42 AM Jean, I have never read either of these authors. What is their genre? I know there is a book club I just don't know where I saw it.
