Posted - Nov 24 2014 : 5:51:50 PM I bought these two books years ago but never got around to reading them. Both have weekly tasks to build motivation and since I have determined to spend the next year intentionally goal setting, I'll be working through them. I would love to have others join me!
This first week - both books focus on listing out what matters most to you, your core values, and then determine if the way you spend your time matches up with what you identified. I know that I need to hone my skills with planning to meet my goals and to waste time less. The key for me is going to be to set my Own priorities and not let someone else set them for me. I'll keep you posted on my progress

Posted - Jan 12 2015 : 5:04:18 PM Week 8 of Every Monday Matters is about remembering to feed the hungry. One of the suggestions is to keep on hand a few fast-food gift cards to give to the homeless.

Posted - Jan 05 2015 : 6:03:01 PM Week 7 of Every Monday Matters is focused on sending a letter to a person in the military. I saw in our Church bulletin that there is a listing of parishioners who are serving overseas. I'll be sending some handwritten notes this week. I also found a website called Warmth for Warriors which has a knit and a crochet pattern for caps to keep our heroes warm. Do you write to anyone who is serving? Or, have you made any caps?

Posted - Dec 30 2014 : 11:43:44 AM The entry for week 6 was about junk mail and how it takes 100 million trees annually to make all the paper used to send us junk mail....YIKES!!! Time to get off those mailing lists.

Posted - Dec 22 2014 : 2:57:32 PM Time for the Be Intentional post for week 5.....Is there a difference between being 99% committed and 100%? I would love to hear your thoughts on this. To me 100% seemed like almost an impossibility until I started thinking of things that I expect to be 100%...and I went back and read the Parables in Luke 15 on the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin and the Lost Son....really got me thinking about where I give less than 100% and how the outcomes during those times have left me disappointed.

Posted - Dec 15 2014 : 5:40:02 PM We have made it to week 4 in these two books and the focus is to take a step, make a habit and you will achieve your goals. It is much less daunting to think intentionally about what I can do today to get there...so instead of making a leap - just take a step.
Emergency preparedness seemed like a huge task to me, but I have found that I am achieving some peace with the habit of preparing on $5 a week while I do my regular shopping - see my blog for a link to the Survival Mom site that discusses this. I would love to hear your stories of how taking a step - instead of a leap - worked out for you.

Posted - Dec 12 2014 : 5:39:11 PM For week three the topic was addressing fear. I know that I have missed out on opportunities because of fear of what others might think - at least what I projected they might think. It is high time now that I am past the middle-aged mark to stop letting that define me. So, time to saddle up anyway, as John Wayne would say. :)

Posted - Dec 01 2014 : 5:07:15 PM I'm on week two of working through these books. Charging the Human Battery has a very important quote to kick off this week: you are always only one choice away from changing your life - Marcy Blochowiak. That really got me thinking - A Lot! Every Monday Matters reviews the statistics of the number of hours we spend watching TV and what it exposes us to. I'm choosing to turn off the TV this week and give my creativity a chance to her herself think! I blogged about it too. Hope you will hop on over and read about Choice - Change and #BeIntentional.
