I've recently started re-reading Jane Austen's novels. I can't get over how much I love her. I'm a fairly eclectic reader, but nothing brings me as much joy to read as her stories do. I re-read Pride and Prejudice, and Northanger Abbey. Now, which to choose next?

Eight books! Wow, I had no idea. I knew there were at least three. Well I might have to get them from the library...

My daughter and I both love Jane and Anne and have all the books. Plus movies of the books. We have read all of Anne of Green Gables, but still have to read more of Jane. I just got a book about Jane's life. Can't wait to read it. It's called Just Jane by Nancy Moser. She did a lot of research of Jane's life. It's next on my list to read.

I don't think I've read any of the others. How many books are there?

I STILL have not read Anne of Green Gables. I have the set, and my oldest daughter loves it! I guess I need to start reading!

Marcy, Emma is a great one! They're all wonderful. My Anne of Green Gables was sitting on the shelf right above my Jane Austen books and it's been a LONG time since I've read that, so, MaryJane, you inspired me to dust that one off. I read the first chapter this afternoon. I tried to read it to my boys about a year ago (7 and 5). It's a girl book, but I thought they'd get a kick out of Anne breaking the slate over Gil's head, and dyeing her hair green. It didn't hold they're attention enough. I guess they were a little too young. I'll try again soon. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

I so so so love Jane Austen, she is one of my absolulte favorite's. I never tire of reading her novels. What about Emma, next? I just love her character and I love her father, he is such a hoot! Jane Austen and the Bronte sisters are my favorite of faves.

hugs,
Marcy

I took my grandgirls to a local production of Anne of Green Gables yesterday.

I read Anne to my mother as she was passing. She passed surrounded by her entire family. Because she had a tube in her throat, she couldn't talk so we gave her note cards to use. Towards the end, she kept holding up the I Love You! note card for the nurses that came in routinely to check on her. She also patted their hand. So sweet.

This is a good reminder that I should re-read Jane Austen's novels also sometime this winter. Kind of a Downton Abbey replacement:)
