I decided to separate this book from A Lantern in Her Hand so we can keep better track of them. Hope this will help all of you.

Here is another book for traveling. It's entitled Orlean Puckett The Life of a Mountain Midwife 1844 - 1939. It was written by a Mary Jane Farm Girl Sister. Her name is Karen Cecil Smith.

Orlean became a bride at 16 and gave birth to 24 children and buried them all by the time she was in her mid-thirties. After that she became a mid-wife. That was enough for me to run to The Book Cottage
and purchase the book. I enjoyed it and learned quite a bit. A girlfriend of mine also read it and enjoyed it. If there is an interest in this book, I will send it out.

I know everyone is busy this time of year. Maybe we should wait until after New Year's unless someone is ready now. Just email me and I will send it out.

The same rules as Little Heathens apply for this book.

Happy Reading and Farm Girl Hugs,
Brenda

You got it. Thanks so much!

Inside me there is a skinny girl crying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with cookies.

Marie, So glad you are sending the book on to Jenny. So sorry I haven't gotten back sooner. Tomato season is up on me and I have spent the past few days doing salsa, tomato vegetable juice and spaghetti sauce. After Jenny, there isn't anyone else on the list.

Jenny after you read the book, let me know please. Also, please sign your name and state on the cover. It's fun to see all the places the book travels. If no one else signs up by the time you are ready to send it on, you can send the book to me. Just email me later Ok.

Thanks and Happy Reading, Brenda

I have finished the book and I want to send it along; however, I am confused as to who should get it next. I believe Margo was skipped because of her schedule. I just need the address of the next person.

Hi all,
I've finished the Orlean Puckett book, it was really a look at another time and place and an amazing woman. Thanks for sharing! I've emailed Margo for her address and will get it sent off as soon as I can.

Hi Lei, Sure there is time to sign up. Actually there isn't any time constraints on this. If anyone is interested, just let me know. I would like to keep this book moving all over the country for as long as anyone wants to read it.

Please send me your address so I can put you in my journal and have the address ready when your turn comes up. Thanks!

Happy Reading,
Brenda
