Thought about doing a Traveling Book. Low and behold, I opened up my new Mary Jane Farm Magazine that I received today and there under Random Acts of Green is an article about traveling books.
I posted information about Little Heathens Hard Times and High Spirits on an Iowa Farm During the Great Depression by Mildred Armstrong Kalish. on the Reading Room Thread.
Ally wants to read this book so I offered to let her read mine and asked her if she thought it would be fun to do a Traveling Book. She thought it would be great.
Here are the details:
Sign up here and I will let Ally know who is signs up next.
When you finish the book, leave a message here or email me and I will let you know who and where to send the book next.
Please sign YOUR NAME INSIDE WITH YOUR STATE, (CITY IF YOU WOULD LIKE) AND THE DATE YOU FINISHED THE BOOK. It would be fun to see how far and long it travels before wearing out.
Send the book by MEDIA MAIL if desired to save on postage.
Please don't sign up if you can't get it read in 3 WEEKS or less and mailed out within 3 days of verification of the next person to receive this book. Others will be waiting.
Please let me know when you have finished the book and are ready to send it on. I will then email the next person to verify that they do in fact still want to read the book. If life has interfered and you aren't able to read at that time, I will be glad to place you on the list for another time.
Since I'm new at this, I think I covered all the necessary information. I decided to place the book under Barters since more of you come here. If you have any questions, ask here or email me. I welcome suggestions.

Hay there,
Yes I do still have the book and am working my way thru it. It is a great read however with summer ranch work it is difficult for me to find time to read. I propped up in bed the other night with the book and was fast a sleep after the first sentence. The heat just saps all my energy down here in Dixie. I will try to finish it soon and will let ya'll know when I mail it.

Oh good!! I have been at my Mom's so much lately. I don't have much service on my phone over there. She's doing really well now. The Pic line will be pulled tomorrow after I give her her last IV med. So glad to be finished with that. I have been doing her wound care each day also and that is finally healed up. Whew! It's been tough with the care and all the appointments. I really feel for anyone that might have to deal with infected bursitis. It's a long process to get it to heal. Not fun.

Hi Ladies, My mom is in the hospital and I haven't had time to post. I will try to get a list of all who are signed up and post it. Could you contact each other and get addresses as you finish the book? Looks like mom will have dr's appointments everyday for a few weeks. So glad I have a sister and 2 brothers willing to help out taking her. Not sure what the schedule will be yet. Will post as soon as I can.

Beth, I emailed you with Becky's address. Sorry it took so long to get back with you. I went on a road trip for a week with my daughter. It was a lot of fun!!! Got to see family we haven't seen in 14 years plus we went to the Lucy and Desi Museum in Jamestown, NY and stopped at a lot of other fun places along the way.
