I just finished watching this BBC TV show on I-tunes and I loved it!
Almost as much as Downton Abbey. There is a series of 6 episodes and one Christmas special. I also have learned that it will be returning for a second season. Terrific story line taken from the memoirs of a midwife in 1950's East End of London. The actors are fantastic! What is it about British TV that it is so much better than American TV?

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

I need to check that one out Diane!

I have the entire Lark Rise series. It's a good one! I missed Downton tonight (homework before the semester even starts?!). Good thing for DVRs!

Diane, I feel like I've seen that movie. Is it a Hallmark one?

I'm so dying to watch Downton tonight! One of my friends cheated and watched all of season 3 already. She said there is a big shocker this episode tonight. When is there not a big shocker though, LOL.

I had never heard of Lark Rise to Candleford, but I figure if its BBC I'd love it. So I got a trial membership to Amazon Prime to watch it. I'm hooked already. :). It has a couple downton actors in it too!

Been watching a little TV lately while I am finishing up some crochet projects. Also, my DH is gone and I have the remote! I watched a wonderful movie last night on Netflix. It is called "Sweet Land" and I loved it. It is about a German woman mail order bride that comes to MN at the end of WWII. She is to marry a MN farmer. Great plot and actors...a love story.

Loved this series. It's true that our programming here doesn't come close to comparing to BBC series.

There is another season - it starts in March in UK.

The books have been very popular here as well so might be worth a look if you really liked the show - I read them a while ago and seem to remember some of the stories were the same and some additional ones as well.

Dance like nobody's watching!

I too love call the midwife. Looking forward to season 2. I recently started watching Lark Rise to Candleford through Amazon Prime. Another wonderful British period piece.

I really love BBCs shows more than any of the crap made by our American TV producers.

I know...I loved this one too. There were so many great quotable lines in it. My favorite was, "We'll, we will just have to wait and see what love can do" from the first (I think) episode where the mother who could not speak English and had about a million children was caring for her baby that wasn't supposed to survive. I wonder if there will be another season?

So true! I love that is good, wholesome tv. It doesn't have the smut and foul language that a lot of our tv shows have and it's interesting! Thanks for the bringing this show to our attention. I'll have to check it out!

I agree, I am hooked! It is so nice to be able to watch something with a good story for a change. I love Downton Abbey too, I'm just dissappointed both shows don't have a longer season
