Posted - Jun 07 2012 : 5:00:26 PM I was at our local farmers' market on Sunday and got to meet Kate Payne, author of The Hip Girl's Guide to Homemaking. She's got me all inspired to start canning again. I hope to find time to pick strawberries over the weekend and start with jam. Lots of other great ideas about homemade, nontoxic cleansers, something else I want to do more of this summer. I will usually skim a book on this subject, looking for things that interest me. I'm finding myself reading this one cover to cover, it's so enjoyable.

Posted - Jun 10 2012 : 10:08:12 AM I'm a little old personally to consider myself a "Hip Chick" and some of the info in the book I've been doing for years, however there is something about the way she writes that makes it all seem new!
