Posted - Apr 09 2012 : 2:10:34 PM I am loving having Kindle on PC and Cloud reader. I can go to Amazon.com and download the free books and magazines and read to my hearts content at work! Some of the books I have downloaded are bummers, but mostly they have been good reads and some are even informative. I haven't mustered the courage to order books that cost money yet. Trying to exhaust all the free ones first.

Posted - May 14 2012 : 04:21:54 AM I just downloaded a ton of books onto my iPad . I use the kindle reader app. I love it for books that I may never have bought that are free! I have bought some. I still enjoy the paper books better, but it was handy on vacation! :)

Posted - May 13 2012 : 04:22:32 AM I think this is going to be my wish for Christmas. Didn't get on the idea soon enough for last Christmas when my MIL asked if I would like one. What was I thinking???
These sound so great and our library has really expanded the downloadable section!!
Thanks for all the input ladies. Marianne |

Posted - May 10 2012 : 08:06:05 AM DH just gave me a nook color for an early Mother's Day gift. I love it so far. (I gave him one for Valentine Day). I didn't think I wanted one because I love hard copy books so much. One time reads (like my historical and mysteries I will read on Nook) However, the classics and my needlework and other craft books will remain hard copy I think. Those are the ones I love to read over and over.

Posted - May 01 2012 : 11:44:35 AM Thanks for the link Patricia. I will check out the free downloads at the library too. I miss going to ours, but with my hours, it is so hard for me to get there when they are open. I also wanted to say that as much as I love the cloud reader and kindle - nothing beats holding a book in my hands. What I love - is that I can read a book for free and if I really really love it, I can buy it.

Posted - Apr 10 2012 : 08:19:31 AM Alyce...much much easier to balance and turn pages with a nook or kindle while knitting, or crocheting at the same time than with a regular book for sure. I do it daily!!

Posted - Apr 10 2012 : 06:39:17 AM My iPad has an e-reader function, and while I still prefer real books it is nice to get my hands on some that are no longer in physical print.
Plus, the free e-book of 'Yellow Submarine' was hilarious.
Now, what is this about reading and crafting with one of these? I have spent years trying to figure out how to read and crochet at the same time. Spill! Please?
