Saved my pennies and bought my sweetie a Nook Color for Valentine Day. He has been eyeing this for awhile. For the first time in years..he said he will not be returning this gift. Yippee!

An another board I frequent this very topic came up. Most of then like the kindle keyboard or the kindle fire. I loved my mom's nook, and really liked it, but it is an older version. I have not tried the fire or the new color nook.

My Nook Color is great to bring along for appointments. Waiting room reading is often very old, or not my taste. I can just open my Nook and read a book or magazine.

I love my mother's nook. I was not so sure at first but it is handy. I would really like one, but I am torn between the Nook and the Kindle Fire.

Funny Story ... I took my mother to a doctor's appointment and when the nurse said she was going to have to sit for awhile I asked my mother if she wanted her Nook. The nurse gave us the strangest look. I assume she thought I meant a nuk ... as in a pacifier. I assured her that my mother did not use that! Although I will admit that the Nook does pacify her. :D

I just bought a regular nook and so far I really like it! I still read books from the library but I like that I can take the nook when I travel and have several books to choose from.

Dh has a Kindle and I've downloaded books to it, but I much prefer paper and ink. Reading a book on a kindle or nook must be similar to what reading a scroll was like back in the day. I tend to read a little bit here, a little bit there, follow the storyline of a character I like, then go back and read all the parts I missed. Sometimes I'll read the end first, or partway through. Reading like that is really hard on Joe's kindle.

I love my nook too! Never thought I would like having one, but the kids (4 teens at home) talked me into it and I love that I can knit and read on the nook at the same time. Hard to do that with a regular book and I like doing both at the same time alot. Still buy other books but would hate to be without my nook now.

I love my nook! I've had a few times where I haven't been able to find a book at the library, but it is available through the library loan on the nook. Yay! Good job on the perfect gift!
