I just finished reading "Riding the Crest: Not a Walk In the Park" by Janice Raddatz. Wow. She thru-rode the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) from Mexico to Canada by herself with her husband as her support crew. If you are horsey or a hiker or just enjoy the outdoors this is a great book.

Have any of you hiked the PCT or parts of it? If so, which parts?

The other book I read recently is "Horse Tales from Heaven: Reflections Along the Trail" by Rebecca Ondov. She spent 15 years in the Bob Marshall Wilderness working for outfitters and as a Forest Ranger. Each chapter is a short description of an experience ending with how she felt God speaking to her and moving in her life. It is a very inspirational book and I think anyone would enjoy it, not just horse people.

I believe so. Isn't it about the girl in Eastern Oregon during one of the wars who is a horse trainer? She would work a horse and then ride it 50? miles to the next client, leave the horse, and do the same thing with the new horse then the next horse, etc. until she finished the circuit at the orignal farm. I really enjoyed it. Thought that was a unique approach to training a horse.

My mom picked this one up for me. I enjoyed it a lot.

I also picked up the two books by Buck Branaman. One is "Believe" with stories of some students he's had, both with his words and the students words. The first chapter was about Fear and it really hit home with me. The other book of his is, The Faraway Horses. More about his life and what he's been through. I picked up both from Amazon... bit of a Christmas present to myself.

Sounds interesting. I'll put them on my list. Thanks for sharing the information.
