I heard this girl on a radio program, & immediately came home & ordered 5 of her books, which I have given to friends & a copy for church, hoping for more & more people to hear this amazing young woman's story.
Katie grew up in an upper middle class neighborhood in TN, was homecoming queen(gorgeous girl, not surprising), dated the star football player etc...
Her senior year in HS, she begged her mom to take her on a mission trip, spent 3 weeks over Christmas break at an orphanage in Uganda, & the die was cast.
Much to her parent's protests, she went back after graduation, to teach kindergarten for 10 months, agreeing to come back to the US and attend university.
Her heart would not allow it. She started Amazima Ministries, a full blown mission in slum ridden Uganda.
OH, and along the way....she adopted 14 little girls. & she did all this by the age of 21.
My heart has been changed by this story, & I hope it never gooes back. I have considered myself to be giving charitable person, but I am seeing this in a new light.
Here is a video for the book promo.

I have shared this book with many friends. Since I bought copies, I gave them to folks & told them to pass it on. Every single one has called me, moved to the core. Katie Davis is one amazing young woman, & has accomplished more in her 22 yrs than most do in a lifetime. A real eye opener, & a faith builder for sure.
