Nancy,
Someone who's opinion I respect told me that at an herbal fair, other authors were visiting and signing their books - enjoying and celebrating. Tasha Tudor was also signing books - for $15 each, no "visiting" included in the fee. The brash commercialism just shattered the image I had of her in my mind. Another friend in the herb field verified this. Also, heard Adelma Simmons was no tea-totaller! An odd lady, but respected in her field.

Nancy, sometimes I am more like a stumbler than a trooper, but I'm just trying to take it one day at a time. I've started a "What I want to do when we move into our house" list, and it's growing like a weed.

I've read all 4 of these and have the 3 Taber books, which I love. I'm probably the oddball here, but while I thought The Believers was okay, I wasn't overly excited/impressed by it. Lots of ladies I know loved it, though. I look forward to hearing your reaction. Enjoy your books!

Audrey,
Haven't read her yet, will let you know how I like her. Some of the girls here seem to like her. If you go on Amazon and type in under books, GLADYS TABER, THEN HER BOOKS WILL COME UP PLUS TELL YOU A LITTLE BIT OF WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT.
So now you have to tell me what you found out about Tasha that was somewhat distressing!

I'm not at all familiar with Gladys Taber, although I too have several books by and about Tasha Tudor. Really like her, except a few ladies who met her shared some things that made me a little less starry eyed about her.

Could you tell me a little more about Ms. Taber and her writing?

Michele,
Yes I have most of the Tasha books. When I was reading about Gladys Taber she kind of reminded me of Tasha so thought I might like her to.

Nancy, I know you like Tasha Tudor, have you read The private Life of Tasha Tudor by Richard Brown? He followed her around for a year and gives great insight into her life. It's a great read.
