Hi Girls, Its that time of year again where I love to sit down ( I may be running everywhere and not sitting lol) and read the Anne of Green Gables series.
I was thinking we would read one book a month?! How does that sound? I really can't do more than one book a month because I am really busy with my life here in Washington and I just can't take on much.
I'm hoping we can get starting by October!

Book List:
1. Anne of Green Gables By L.M. Montgomery
2. Anne of Avonlea By L.M. Montgomery
3. Anne of the island ( all written by the same author)
4. Anne of Windy Poplars
5. Anne's house of dreams
6. Anne of Ingleside
7. Rainbow Valley
8. Rilla of Ingleside

I hope you can join me!!
Hugs, Hannah

P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!!

I have to admit, this is my second favorite in the series. Such an amazing book, and a great insight into World War I. Happy Reading!

This is the last post too, so I hope you guys get a change to read the series and participate in the questions!

I may have to re-read AoGG series again...it's been awhile! And Anne of Windy Poplars & Anne's House of Dreams were my favorite books of the series :).

For specific reasons (canning, garden, goats - summer responsibilities), I will not be participating in this discussion any longer. Although, I want you thank you Hannah for starting it.

Just wanted to add that I couldn't keep up with it. Being self-sufficient, I have many more summer chores.

Anne of the Island discussion questions are up! Sorry I was a little late with them this month. I forgot! And then I had a hard time being analytical with the book, since it is my favorite. I love to read it, but I hadn't really torn it apart mentally. That was a bit challenging for me, but now I got some questions put together, and I hope you all are enjoying them! Next month we will be reading Anne of Windy Poplars. Happy reading!

Great to see so many signing up. Just to be clear, this month we are reading Anne of Avonlea. Since so many of you have been in this group for so long, I feel bad going back to the very beginning. :) The discussion questions are up for Anne of Green Gables, so if you've read it, go in over to http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=48851 to put in your two cents. If you haven't read it yet, don't feel any pressure. We're trying to read a book a month, but the questions aren't going anywhere, so don't worry. I'll start a new thread for each book so that anyone coming along behind can answer them whenever they get to them. Happy Reading!

Hi, everyone! Thank you for the well wishes for my recovery from the stroke. As you can see by my typing, things are really improving. My last e-mail to you looks pretty sketchy. Anyway, I see the book club is moving to a new thread. It sounds like it will be fun. I am still struggling with reading and will have to take rain check and maybe catch up another time. My daughter bought me the complete Anne set for this book club, but it will be sitting here waiting when I'm ready for it :-) Have fun, ladies! Gotta love that Anne Girl.

Sarah, I would love to join in! I am just now re-reading Anne of Avonlea, after finishing the first book. I received a Kindle for Christmas, and when I saw the Anne books were available, I downloaded them all! Having fun reading them all again.
You know, I never did read them as a child.... I first read them about 15 years ago, when my daughters all became interested in them! :)

P.S. I know your not asking me but thought I would put in my two cents. lol I would start a new thread that way you can edit it, etc. :)

My initial idea would be to discuss book one this month while we read book two. If this sounds good to everyone, that's what we'll do. That way people who are just joining us can still jump in anytime, and we can get going on this month's book. Still wondering if I should start a new thread, but for now, I'll go with this one.

Oooooh, I love this series so much!! I actually saw my old books from when I was a girl sitting on my shelf yesterday and thought about how much fun it would be to reread them. I may be too late for the discussions, but I'll be reading them again for sure.

Should I start a new thread for the actualy discussion part...or maybe start a whole new thread and direct peeople to go to that one from this one? I guess I can just put up big bold posts on this thread for each discussion so people can know where we are. I'm just concerned that I can't edit anything in this post, not being the original author of it. Let me know your thoughts. Also, do we want to start over with book one, since there wasn't a ton of discussion the first time around? I guess I'm wanting some input as to how to move forward. Thanks!

I'm in! Where I'll find time, I don't know. I "loaned" the series to someone who never returned it. Thanks for the online tip - I'll check it out. It will give me an excuse to purchase them too! Oh - another favorite of mine is the Emily series by L.M.Montgomery. There are only 3 and they are just as good as Anne. I'll be looking for details!

I'm new to this thread, but if it wouldn't be stepping on anyone's toes I'd be willing to take this group on for leading the discussion. I reread the whole series of Anne every year (usually in the spring, somehow they go together) and I'm pretty familiar with them. Would anyone be opposed?
