I just started reading Barefoot Sisters: Southbound by Lucy and Susan Letcher? They wrote a book about their experience thru-hiking the entire Appalachian Train from Maine to Georgia...barefoot! They also have a sequel to this book about their trip back home: they got to Georgia, didn't know what else to do, so they turned around and hiked all the way back! Thru-hiking the A.T. has been a dream of mine for many years, and so this is a really compelling read for me.
