I read several books about real pioneer women several years ago. I don't remember if yours ones one of them but it probably was.

I read Pioneer Women recently and really enjoyed it. I haven't read Arctic Homestead yet, but it's on my to-read list since a lot of people on here have read it and really liked it.

I think I read Artic Homestead. If it's the book I'm thinking of, the woman and her family move to Alaska with nothing but their car and personal possessions, and they have all kinds of trouble getting established. Then by the end of the book, she's all smug about how the newbies coming to Alaska aren't prepared and don't know what they're getting into! I thought that was really funny. And is this the book with the stinky sasquatch-type creature roaming around the house?

I love the Book. I bought it many years ago. My Granddaughter-in-law just finished reading it. She loved it too. Living here in KS, I tried to relate to some of their experiences. As old fashioned as I think I am, I'm not sure I could have survived what they did. But, I think I would like to try.
