Picked this up this week...it's by Susan McCorkindale, a memoir of a wife/mother who moves with her family to a 500 acre cattle farm in VA. Looks to be fun and entertaining - a little like Pioneer Woman?

I am going to check it out at the library today. It sounds interesting. Thanks!

Hmmm..interesting to read your review. Must admit it's still sitting here, as I'm near finishing "See You in a Hundred Years" and loving that one! Will start Counterfeit Farm Girl next...and will see if I agree!

I read it, and not to be a buzzkill, but I thought it was crap.

The author doesn't so much enjoy living on a farm as much as she enjoys mocking it. And the area in which she lives isn't so much a farming one as one of those areas where all the houses have big iron gates in the front and thoroughbred horses running around white-fenced pastures.

And she calls Tractor Supply "the Saks of the Sticks." Unforgivable!
