Posted - Sep 30 2009 : 07:41:22 AM Has anyone read Still Alice? My sister loaned it to my because our cousin was recently diagnosed with Alzheimers. I started reading it this weekend but had to put it down for awhile. I know I'll pick it up again, I'll just have to be in the right frame of mind.

Posted - Oct 03 2009 : 1:52:37 PM She's in the "middle" if there is such a thing. The meds that they put her on seemed to slow the progression for a little while, but now they don't seem to be making any difference. Thanks for your comment.

Posted - Oct 03 2009 : 12:39:29 PM Yes, Kelly. I read it when it first came out. I found it to be enlightening (in understanding what a person who is diagnosed must be feeling.) Is your cousin's the early onset? I could see that this would be a tough read for you with such a personal connection. |
