Yes, the premiere issue of Urban Farm is now available. I haven't had a chance to read it all yet but there is a great article on converting your lawn into a garden. Also lots of practical advice on keeping chickens (a goal of mine) and how to repurpose "garbage" in a sustainable way.
I may never have an actual urban farm--more like an urban farmette--but I'm sure going to try to put this land to good use. Anyone else a farmgirl living in town?

Amie--I didn't see any subscription info in the entire magazine, so I think it's being published on a trial basis. I guess reaction to the first issue will determine if it will continue to be published. I think it's definitely worth buying if you come across it.

I was at Borders last weekend and B&N this weekend. Didn't see any copies.

Can somebody who did pick one up let us know if it's worth subscribing?

I just happened to be in Border's last Thursday and got the last copy. Don't know if they sold a lot(hope so) or just didn't have very many to start with.

I'll look for it if I get out this weekend. I have a pretty small yard...much smaller than the 1/4 acre that everyone always cites as "enough to grow food for a family of 4".

I looked at Walmart & Borders for it yesterday and neither had it. Boo hoo!
